new blog/domain prettyclicks.com Pretty Clicks are coming soon

I’m so excited, I bought a new domain  http://prettyclicks.com  I have a vision for it, just wish I had the technical expertise to carry it out.  I hope that part will come.

Pretty Clicks will highlight products that I like that are pretty.

Here are the categories I’m planning for the site/blog:

  • pretty things for the home
  • pretty things for the garden
  • pretty storage solutions
  • pretty clothing for women
  • pretty clothing for men (?)
  • pretty clothing for kids
  • pretty clothing for baby
  • products that help you look pretty
  • pretty make up
  • pretty skin care
  • pretty clicking computer things

I guess you get the idea, pretty things that would make great gifts, so hopefully men will like to shop for their lady here.

Do you avoid salt intake?  I have heard that when you eat too much salt it makes the bags under your eyes darker.  I didn’t realize how dark my under eye area was until I went to the MAC counter two weeks ago.  Those mirrors and lights have a way or accentuating the negative!!  I was horrified!

I’ve been upping my water and lowering my salt and there is a dramatic improvement!! so if you suffer from this there is hope.

mismatch tan

I cannot stand it! it seems every year the same thing happens.  I get very tan arms and neck area and can never match my legs!! they are still pasty white and we’re well into July!  I don’t want to use a self tanner because I’m breastfeeding and I’m sure it’s not good for my baby milk.

Speaking of breast feeding, I need to start pumping some milk for baby while I’m away for 3 days, I’m really worried she won’t want to nurse when I get back and be mad at me or something :(

Fertility Center @ Thumos Health Center

If you’re trying to conceive a child look into the Thumos Health Center, to Bryan Abel and Ganit Kriel you are not just another number.   Their website is warm and friendly but most importantly, informative. Services are comprehensive and not only take care of the issue physically but mentally as well - infertility can be very hard to deal with.

The fertility plan takes from 3 to 6 months to go through including analysis and counseling.  They take the extra steps to ensure their patients are well cared for, offering acupuncture and herbal remedies that are proven to work.

Thumos Health Center has really improved the method of in vitro fertilization (IVF), working with other local California clinics merging the best of the East and West approaches to fertilization.

There is an entire section about herbology and the roots of Chinese medicine and the things we now know are true about disease fighting and well being.

There are ongoing events listed on their website offering a perfect opportunity to find out more about the program and a great first step to know if these treatments can help you.  Also look at the glowing testimonials from people that were helped by theThumos Health Center and now have the children and hope that they were looking for.

Looking back… giant woman

Looking back at pictures is really painful for me, I look and see a beautiful young woman, but at the time I didn’t realize how good I had it.  I was always slim but never really got any direction with makeup or skin care - not to mention fashion - eewww.

My mother is a very no-frills type of person so she never really gave me advice on how to put things on or what I should be doing.

I thought I was too fat to wear certain things, I had this phobia about my ears, I thought they stuck out too much so I NEVER wore my hair up even though it looked really good on me… now I wear it up most of the time.

Young women out there: don’t be afraid to admire yourself… even if it’s one little thing you think is good about yourself, emphasize and focus on it!  Also, take LOTS Of pictures - do it yourself if you have to!

No one around me has ever been a good photographer, don’t be embarassed to go get your picture taken for YOURSELF!  I wish I had, I have some pictures where I’m in mid-speech or taking a fork full of food in my mouth - not attractive! or my now husband is famous for taking “giant woman” pictures with my crotch in the forefront!! flattering?!<$  how annoying!

hope you’re all beautiful

hope you’re all beautiful, what a day it has been!

I love when my DH has days off from work! some times he goes on a mission to get the honey do list done which is great! -less stuff for me to nag about and more time for blogging!

tomorrow is a big day so I hope to blog beauty when I come home.

Make sure to keep hydrated!!

Budget $50 per month to spend on beauty

My budget is to spend $50 per month on beauty products.  We’ll see how far that gets me… I will purchase from sephora.com and any other online source.  I will supplement some basics from Walmart or Rite Aid.  I will try to take advantage of Free after rebate items @ Rite Aid as well as free offers connected to beauty products.

This will try to cover the basics except fragrance which I will always receive as a gift fom my husband, lol, at least he’s sure he can’t mess that up!

I’m open to any suggestions/coupon codes, thanks!!

Beauty Blogging

Beauty blogging is a lot of fun.  I haven’t spent this much time thinking about make up since junior high school!  Blogging is simple and anyone can have a blog in just minutes!  The Steeping Beauty blog is about all the aspects of beauty - including the inner beauty.  If you share a passion for beauty and blogging I’d love to add you to my blogroll.  I’d especially like to find mommy beauty bloggers that love great products. Blogging is a great way to promote your other businesses.

Steeping Beauty Blogging Spa Brows into Oblivion

I’ve noticed around the net it’s hard to find pictures of real people.  Everyone has an avatar or no pictures of themselves at all.  I think it is especially important to see beauty bloggers.

It comes down to confidence, if you can give me tips, then you can show yourself.  I’m not a professional or anything, but it kills me when I go to a spa and see the techs with acne scars or even worst BAD Heavy Makeup in the wrong color or not blended!  I guess I’d have the same reaction in the blogging world.

The ultimate scare is the spa brow! There should definately be some type of program for spa brow intervention, it is really horrible to see a beautiful woman that takes great care of herself and then you look up at those brows! ewwww… I had a spa brow once and I had to tell them to take off the inside bottom part, so my brows were ultra thin BUT at least balanced.  The lady got in a tiff but life is too short to walk around with spa brows! And you guessed it, SHE had spa brows too!

Now that I think about it my two worst experiences were in spas.  The one time I described above, and the second time in a beautiful spa in Miami… they ran out of wax removal paper, so she re-used the paper and took off 1/3 of my eyebrow! it was terrible!! My best experience and where I go now is my local cheapo nail salon.  I get my brows waxed for $8, I give them a $2 tip and they are happy.  My brows are always perfectly shaped and it’s usually fast.

I’ll be blogging what I preach and post a photo as soon as I can find my camera! grrr…

Self care is important

When I became a mother for the first time in 2001 I was overjoyed and the happiest I’ve ever been in my entire life.  My 2001 baby was my sunshine, I sang, read, danced, talked and lived for him.

As soon as my son was born, I completely forgot about myself… quite surprising for someone most people would consider selfish by nature.

After all, I’m an only child and I was married 5 years before I became pregnant.  My husband and I were used to having lots of disposable income and lots of time to ourselves to enjoy it. I always looked my best and dressed to impress.

As soon as I found out I was pregnant, the focus shifted from me, to my new baby.  I spent only on things for him, I saved EVERY extra penny we made during my pregnancy in preparation for staying at home with him.  I had planned to quit my job or try to work out something from home, but as it turned out, the company busted with a lot of other dot coms.

I went home and waited the last 3 weeks at home, gaining weight and being to lazy to properly care for my teeth and diet.  Vowing the weight would come off with the impending birth.

My son was born and

I NEVER looked in the mirror - my poor husband!

I NEVER put my baby down - EVER!!

I NEVER did anything for myself, save a nightly shower.

I totally let myself go… you don’t want to know where.

Over the past five years since he’s been born, I’ve tried several times to lose weight and even more importantly, keep my look up without any real consistency - It seems like such a high hill to climb now.

This blog is a way for me to catalog my success and investment in myself.  The past few months since my 2006 baby I’ve been trying to keep up with my beauty regime (to be detailed in another post) and with my tea consumption.

Self care is important and necessary for a woman’s well being.  I vow to care for myself and my body anew.
