does the world make you sad sometimes?

I didn’t post last week, I guess I’ve been on a down slump.  Nothing wrong with the kids or DH, just the way people are in general.  The “What’s in it for me?” type of attitude, the greed and meanness, the non-welcoming looks, competitiveness.

Several incidents happenned over the week, including two Christmas parties, a MOPS meeting and ending with a holiday song at boy2001’s elementary school.

By the end of the week, when my son’s holiday school program was performed I’d had enough.  We got there ten minutes early, DH, me, girl2004 & girl2006 looked around for a seat.  DH went in one direction with girl2004 I went in the other, it was filled up, people were standing, NO ONE was smiling.  Dirty looks were thrown, accusing eyes, “how dare they look for a seat?”

All of a sudden, the teacher took the tape off some of the HUGE reserved section.  I was just in the right spot and grabbed TWO seats at the end of the row.  I could have taken three, one to put girl2004 in, BUT I was trying to be nice and took the two, sitting in one and putting my bag in the other.  A man, who had been right behind me, asked if I was taking the whole row, I said, “no” and he gestured to get by.  I got up and for some reason picked up my purse out of habit, well, as you imagine I had to cut the party off and said, “I need these two seats”  I was pleasant but I wasn’t going to let go of my seats.  So this woman looks at me dumbfounded as I sat in my aisle seat and put the purse back in the one next to me and says, “oh that’s really nice” rolling her eyes, huffing and puffing and looking at me.  The man I originally talked to changed seats with the woman next to me and gave me a dirty look.

EXCUSE ME!! You idiot, schools should not allow twelve people to come see one child and expect to be seated!  I think this party was more than ten, but as a parent, I should be able to get a seat at my own kids show!!  Not to mention not having to fight for it.  By now, DH found me again and had that look on his face like, what’s going on, so I told him how ungrateful people are and how rude they can be and how there should be some kind of law or at the least a ticket system to keep these seat hoarders from coming en masse to get all the seats.  DH was laughing which kept things lighthearted but I was on the verge of getting physical!!  Of course I spoke so the man next to me could hear, hopefully he told them and they will think about it.  It is really unfair and annoying.

That was just one of my incidents, I cannot really speak about the others because they deal with organizations which some members may find my blog some day and I don’t want any record of the situations… so I will keep them to myself.  Suffice it to say, I have no patience right now, maybe too many incidents in a short period of time.  Anyone else have a story to share?

N.V. Perricone M.D. Alpha Lipoic Acid Nutritive Cleanser Product Review

Let me start by saying that I absolutely love the sample Perricone products I have tried in the past.  The samples led me to the book, the Perricone Promise, the diet supplements and now buying this product.  As I mentioned upon receipt, I started off disappointed because the bottle came leaking, after cleaning up the mess and setting up the pump, I used it… At first I thought the consistency was weird… on top of that, there is no foaming or sudsing which reminded me of Cetaphil.  I thought about filling the bottle with Cetaphil when it’s done because the bottle is very nice and the pump works well.  Pumps I’ve used in the past get clogged or squirt all over my shirt, not this one.  I’ve used it 5 times so far, it’s not a favorite but it is useable.

6 oz. $35 @ Sephora

DDF Oil-Free Moisturizing Dew - Product Review

I recently purchased DDF ultra-lite oil-free moisturizing dew from Sephora.      It is my new favorite! Ultra-Lite Oil Free Moisturizing Dew Amazing, very lite and most importantly absorbs quickly!!  I cannot stand an oily moisturizer, or one that you have to wait to absorb!  I also cannot stand stinky lotions that try to compete with my Chanel Gardenia!

I’ve been using it day and night for the last few days and started using it on my girl2006 and girl2004.  It is fragrance free which is great for kids.  I put it on early this morning and it tightened my skin right away and it feels so soft.  This is the best moisturizer EVER and I am really happy to have found it.  1.67 ounces for $35

I’ve been doing my pilates dvd’s

It’s official, I’m back to exercising!  I’ve kept up my once a day routine for the past 6 mornings!  I’ve got the dvd’s with mari (sp?) windsor and they are great.  I’ve been doing the 20 minutes workout, I used to do the advanced dvd I have but I’m not up to that yet!

I really miss doing pilates, I was doing very well with it until I found out I was pregnant with girl2006.  If you haven’t tried it, pilates is really great for stretching and you work up a pretty good sweat for such a little time.

a promise or a threat

depending on how you look at this it may be a promise or a threat… when this blog hits 1000 hits I will post a photo, so dramatic, so tantalizing, so unbelievably unique, you will know what all this STEEPING Beauty stuff is about.

Keep coming back, if you dare…

I got my Sephora order today!!

I am thrilled to announce I received my Sephora order that I placed the other day!!  I keep looking at all my goodies, I will try them tonight and over the next few days.  The only disappointing thing is the N.V. Perricone Alpha Lipoic Acid Nutritive Cleanser with DMAE was leaking out of the bottle making a gunky mess!  I threw away all the return stuff, which I wouldn’t do anyway, but quite a bit has leaked.

I’m not too thrilled with the red satchels but I absolutely LOVE the promo polka dot bags, they are so CUTE!!  The perfume samples are totally wasted on me, I have one true love and that is Chanel Gardenia!  but the other little samples look great, useful and cute!

The Nativity Story - Steeping Movie Review

The other night I took myself to the movies to see The Nativity Story.  I REALLY liked it!  It followed the story to a tee. I especially liked the depiction of the wise men.  I almost took boy2001 with me to see it again today… but I changed my mind because of the scene where the babies are slain and because of the theme of pregnancy out of marriage and the way Mary was treated when her village found out.

I loved the way this film is made, especially the romantic view of how Joseph really stood by Mary and took care of her… and I even picked up on something, that Mary did not want to marry Joseph at first, she did not know him and she even went away.  I would give this movie an A!  It was really nice, if my son was a few years older it would be a perfect family Christmas movie.

Today got off to a bumpy start…

Today got off to a bumpy start, Miss L’s arm was hurting her, she was not using it at all and cried when I touched it.  We spent two hours in the ER, after we could not get an appointment with our regular provider.  After an hour, we took x-rays and had to wrestle with her to get her in the right position… after that she was fine!  Whatever popped out of place, popped back in!  The Doctor called it “nurses’ elbow”.  She seems totally fine now thank goodness.

I took the night off from cooking and daddy grilled hamburgers which were great.  While he was doing that I was shopping at Sephora!  If you don’t know there is a great incentive to buy right now… for every order over $50 you can input a shopping discount code and get a free 10 piece sample in the cutest polka dot satchel!  in addition of course to your normal 3 samples, and if you buy $75 worth you get free shipping.  I only buy 2 or 3 times a year (I would love to buy more often) and wait for these offers to stock up on things DH and I want.  I posted what I got on my other blog, buyology.

The older two are in bed and DH has agreed to watch the little one sleep while I got see The Nativity Story tonight!
